The Ultimate Team Sport: Farrington's Geneva Masterclass and Schott's Breakthrough in California

Kent Farrington stamps his authority on the Rolex Grand Prix with a devastating 40.04-second jump-off to claim his third Grand Slam Major, Scott Brash steals Friday's Top 10 Final by a blink, and 22-year-old Callie Schott produces the ride of her life to win her first 5-star Grand Prix in Thermal.

World No. 1 Claims Third Rolex Grand Slam Major with Devastating Jump-Off

The 64th edition of CHI Geneva delivered a weekend that underlined exactly why this remains one of showjumping's most coveted titles. Kent Farrington and his 11-year-old mare Greya produced a performance of surgical precision to win the โ‚ฌ1.2 million Rolex Grand Prix, claiming Farrington's third Rolex Grand Slam Major victory.

Gรฉrard Lachat and Gregory Bodo's first-round course tested 40 of the world's best riders from 12 nations across 14 obstacles at 1.60m. Only eight combinations advanced to the jump-off โ€” a testament to the technical demands of indoor Geneva.

The jump-off began promisingly for Shane Sweetnam, who set the early pace aboard James Kann Cruz with a slick clear in 41.39 seconds. But Farrington was in no mood for silver. He and Greya attacked from the start, carving turns with millimetre precision and stopping the clock at a sensational 40.04 seconds โ€” over a second and a third faster than anything else in the ring.

"I came with good horses and to win," Farrington said simply. "I am fortunate to have an excellent team supporting me, including veterinarians and farriers, whose contributions made today possible."

Belgium's Thibeau Spits and Impress-k Van't Kattenheye Z claimed third, with rising American star Sophie Hinners just 0.14 seconds behind in fourth aboard Iron Dames Singclair โ€” a hugely promising performance on one of the sport's biggest stages.

Brash Takes Friday's Top 10 Final

Friday night's โ‚ฌ535,000 Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final โ€” a gathering of the world's absolute elite โ€” provided another thriller. Only four of ten riders survived the first round clean: Steve Guerdat, Gilles Thomas, Scott Brash, and Kent Farrington.

Brash and the 12-year-old Hello Chadora Lady produced two flawless rounds to take the title, edging Farrington and Toulayna by just 0.16 seconds. Richard Vogel completed the podium aboard Cloudio.

"This remains the most intensely competitive class I participate in, with any rider capable of victory," Brash reflected.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ โญโญโญโญโญ CSI5* Desert International Horse Park | Schott's Moment

22-Year-Old Goes All Out for Career-Defining $340,000 Grand Prix Victory

While Geneva commanded the indoor stage, the Desert International Horse Park in Thermal, California, delivered a breakthrough story of its own. Callie Schott, still only 22, and her 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding Garant produced an electrifying jump-off to win the $340,000 Go Rentals CSI5* Grand Prix.

Olaf Petersen Jr.'s course reduced the field to a jump-off where Schott simply decided to let Garant fly. Her time of 38.08 seconds was over a second clear of the field โ€” a statement performance from one of American showjumping's brightest young talents.

"I told myself that I was just going to try to go and not touch the reins and see what happens," Schott said. "This was definitely the fastest I've ever gone!"

Veteran Aaron Vale and Carissimo 25 claimed a strong second in 39.48 seconds, while Jessica Springsteen rounded out the podium in 40.14 seconds aboard Don Juan van de Donkhoeve.

$340,000 Go Rentals CSI5* Grand Prix Podium:

This Week: 9.2/10

A near-perfect week of showjumping. Farrington's Geneva masterclass โ€” winning the Rolex Grand Prix by over a second โ€” cemented his standing as the dominant force in the sport, while Brash's Top 10 Final victory kept their rivalry at boiling point. And Callie Schott's fearless, hands-off ride in Thermal? That's the kind of moment that announces a new generation.
